Linear Tube House

Located in the French part of Pondicherry, the span of its construction was 18 months.

The aim of the project was to create a tall, narrow residence that lets daylight penetrate its walls and floors. The main theme revolves around exploring the possibilities of illuminating dark and humid spaces using natural lighting via strategic placement of fenestrations.

The plot size, with very narrow proportions of 4.3m x 23m made it difficult to bring natural light and ventilation through the buildings, which have no side windows and follow a minimalistic approach. A Courtyard and light wells of different forms have been introduced to bring light and ventilation.
